Serving Those Who Served: Chiropractic Care for Veterans

Military service takes a toll on the body — long deployments, heavy gear, repetitive strain, and old injuries that never quite healed. At Complete Chiropractic, Dr. James Whidden and our team have built a practice around treating that toll seriously. Through our partnership with the VA, eligible veterans can receive chiropractic care here with the VA covering the cost.

What Sets Our Approach Apart

We treat the whole history, not just the symptom. Veterans often carry a mix of old service-related injuries and newer, everyday strain. Rather than a one-size-fits-all adjustment, we start by understanding your full health background — service history included — before building a plan around what your body actually needs.

We invest in the tools to back it up. Diagnosis and treatment are only as good as the technology behind them. Our clinic uses current chiropractic equipment and techniques so that pain relief, injury recovery, and mobility improvements are grounded in an accurate picture of what's going on, not guesswork.

We know a clinic visit can feel like one more form to fill out. It shouldn't. Our staff works to make every part of your visit — from scheduling to treatment — feel straightforward and low-stress, with a team that takes time to listen rather than rush you through.

Using Your VA Benefits Here: What the Process Looks Like

Getting a referral doesn't have to be confusing. Here's the general path most veterans follow:

  • Confirm your eligibility. Not every VA health plan includes chiropractic coverage, so the first step is checking with the VA that your enrollment includes it.
  • Talk to your VA primary care provider. Bring up your pain or mobility concerns directly, ask about a chiropractic referral, and name Complete Chiropractic as your preferred provider.
  • Go through a provider assessment. Your VA provider will review your medical history and current condition to determine whether chiropractic treatment fits your situation.
  • Submit the referral request. If approved for chiropractic care, your provider submits the referral naming Complete Chiropractic as the treating clinic.
  • Allow time for VA approval. Referral processing timelines vary — a follow-up call to your provider's office can help keep things moving if it's been a while.
  • Receive your authorization. Once approved, you'll get authorization to begin treatment with us, with the VA covering the cost so you can focus on getting better.

Questions about your specific benefits or the referral process? Give our office a call — we're happy to walk you through it.
